The government of Sindh is going to increase the medical college fees. They significantly increased up to 50% in students’ fees for the next academic session. On Tuesday, Caretaker Health Minister Dr Saad Niaz took this decision in a recent meeting. During the meeting, the representatives of the medical colleges and universities demanded a 50% increase in the admission and academic session fees due to inflation. After getting suggestions from other senior representatives, the caretaker minister decided to move the summary and get approval from the provincial cabinet.

The meeting also reviewed preparations for the upcoming Medical and Dental College Admission Test (MDCAT). It was decided to deal with students caught cheating during the exam strictly. The Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (PMDC) would be approached, and a one-year ban would be suggested for such students. The representatives of the medical institutions were given one week to submit a draft of the admission prospectus.
