According to the recent news, the Sindh Education Department is buying the school desks at a higher rate. Based on the TIP report, the Sindh Govt bought the desks at a 320% higher rate that caused a loss of billion rupees.
According to the letter in June 2021, TIP awarded 04 contracts to the Sindh having a worth of Rs 5 Billion. This budget is to supply the dual desks to the public schools across the province with rates between Rs 23,985-29,500 per desk. However, the government received a lower tender price for the desks between approximately 5000 to 7000. But the government didn’t accept it.
Now, the Sindh Govt accepts the tender at a 320% higher rate hat cause a loss of around Rs 3.3 Billion. However, TIP requested CM Murad Ali shah investigate this matter and take necessary action against the corrupted officers.
