On Wednesday, Sindh High Court issued a notification regarding the closure of public schools. It is to inform all that Sindh High Court SHC decided to shut down 6,866 public schools due to a lack of teaching staff. The COVID-19 situation in Sindh is under control, but due to teachers’ unavailability, the SHC ordered to shut down those schools. Around 7,974 schools are unviable.
As per details, the school education secretary informed the SHC that 32,510 primary school teachers and 14,039 junior elementary school teachers are still vacant in various districts of Sindh. The school education secretary visits multiple schools to investigate the number of teaching staff. However, they issued the final report to Sindh High Court. SHC finalized to shut down 6866 schools all over Sindh.
Apart from this, the Sindh cabinet has approved an online policy for the transfer and posting of the teaching staff members. He said that reopening viable schools through teachers’ transfer from the schools where the teaching staff is in excess is underway. Hopefully, the recruitment of teachers will help in the reopening of closed schools.
