On 3rd February 2021, the Sindh government rejected the Higher Education Commission HEC’s new policy of eliminating two-year Bachelor’s and Master’s degree programs. In a recent press conference, Chief Minister Adviser of Universities and Boards Nisar Khuhro said that HEC’s move an “attack” on provincial sovereignty and announced the continuation of all two-year degree programs in the province.
Added more, the federal government doing wrong and playing with the rights of the students through the Pakistan Medical Commission and sometimes it attacks the provincial autonomy through its tactics. Therefore, the Advisor said that HEC should take proper measures and take accurate decisions regarding this policy.

Not only this, but HEC also issued directives to all educational institutions to stop the two-year bachelor’s degree programs as it will not recognize any such programs undertaken after the academic year 2018. Discarded these 2 years BS and MS degrees is not a good solution. Therefore, HEC should think about it.
