AIOU plans to construct centers in Sindh

Allama Iqbal Open University AIOU decided to construct new regional offices in Singh and Muzaffarabad. In this regard, AIOU has finalized the final budget for the 2020-21 year on Monday. 

The VC of AIOU said that we have decided to expand our centers across the country. Thus, the final budget has been finalized, and VC has also reviewed the documents prepared by the Finance Department

AIOU Regional offices

This year Allama Iqbal University decided to build three regional offices

  • Two in Sindh (one of these in Moro and other in Sukkur)
  • One in Muzaffarabad 

He further said that apart from this the university has the plan to build more regional offices. So, for acquiring land and construction of the offices, money has been set aside. At this time, the university has more than 40 regional offices and centers all over the country.

AIOU per Annual grant

About the grant that university received from the HEC, AIOU VC, prof. Dr. Ziaul Quyum also talked. He said that HEC gives about a 40-50% grant for the recruiting expenses to any university. But AIOU only receives a 4-5% grant per year. 

He further said that for this year, HEC decided to give Rs 410 Million to the AIOU. And until now we only received Rs 22 Million. 

He also stated that the University has established an endowment fund. Recently the university has added RS 1.5 Billion in its endowment fund.

After that, the treasurer of the university also made a statement. He said that the proposal to stop deducting the traveling allowances from employees during COVID-19 had also approved.
