Due to some severe clash with the Peshawar police, all primary teachers association APTA decided to shut down the schools from today. The Peshawar Police’s baton charge and teargas shelling on the primary school teachers’ protest. According to the details, the police took severe action after the teachers’ negotiations with the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Government failed. After the unsuccessful negotiation, Police tried to disperse the protestors gathered in front of the KP Assembly through aerial firing, baton charges, and tear gas shelling. As a result, peaceful protestors began pelting stones at the police. During this incident, two teachers and two policemen were injured and taken to the Lady reading hospital.
In this regard, the Provincial President of APTA, Aziz Ullah, stated that the protestors would not return unless their conditions were met and demanded answers from Police officials who committed such brutal actions on the peaceful protestors. Police raided different government schools and arrested the teachers who attempted to exit the school premises. Because of all these horrifying conditions, the KPK primary schools shut down.
