Holidays in educational institutes throughout the country
The National Security Committee has decided that the schools, colleges, Madrasa, and tuition centers will remain close throughout the country, including Azad Kashmir, till April 5, 2020, due to the outbreak of coronavirus. The Punjab Education Minister said that the health of our children and respected teachers is at priority # 1. He further said that it is better to be safe than to say sorry. The following instructions/ directions have been given in the notification no SO(I&C-I) 1-2/2020 by the Government of Punjab Services and General Administration Department:
- All educational institutions i.e., schools, colleges, medical colleges, Technical and Vocational institutions, universities (both public and private), shall remain closed for three weeks with immediate effect.
- All examinations being conducted or to be conducted during the coming three weeks shall remain canceled. All tuition centers shall also be closed.
- All DeeniMadaris shall remain closed for three weeks. Only international students may be allowed to be accommodated in the hostels of madaris.
- All marriage/ banquet halls and marquees shall remain closed for three weeks.
- All religious congregations and ceremonies shall remain suspended for three weeks.
- Jashn-e-Baharan and other spring festivals shall remain canceled for three weeks.
- All public and private sports festivals shall remain canceled for three weeks.
- Meeting with prisoners shall remain banned for three weeks.
- Any other type of public gathering of any kind shall not be held for three weeks.
- PSL matches will be played without crowds.
