Single National Curriculum Standards
The ministry of EducationEducation formed a committee of 10 members to check the Single National Curriculum standards accordingly. Thus, the committee will provide guidelines and make sure that all the things are processing according to the guidance. According to the notification, this ten-member committee will see the academic standards, students’ requirements according to age and grade level, and latest international trends.

Other than that, this group will review the topics and subjects required to include and exclude from the curriculum. According to the news, the government selected the following members to oversee the curriculum. The name of those members are:
- Dr. Syed Khurshid Hasnain from Quaid-i-Azam University
- Dr. Irfanullah Chaudhry, University of Engineering Lahore
- Afia Salaam, an expert in climate change, geography, & the environment
- Dr. Mohammad Mustafa, FC College Lahore
- Dr. Sabieh Anwar from Lums
- Dr. Fatima Zia Dar from Centre for Teaching Excellence and Learning Innovation, Asia University Malaysia
- Dr. Irfan Muzaffar from Columbia University
- Prof Dr. Meraj Mustafa Hashmi from NUST
- Dr. Sajida Zaki from NED University of Engineering and Technology Karachi
- Dr. Habibullah Pathan from Jamshoro University
However, The federal government announced to implement the SNC for grades 1-5 from the 2021 session. So, now the government is completing all the processes to implement the decision.
In Contrast, the Sindh Education ministry didn’t show satisfaction with the Single National Curriculum and not ready to adopt it yet. The Sindh Minister stated that we already have an advanced curriculum. Thus, there is no need to change it again.
SNC
A single National Curriculum is a decision of the government to make EducationEducation equal for all. Thus, according to this, all the country’s public and private sectors will follow the same syllabus. Other than that, the government decided to implement this into 03 phases.
- 1st phase for class 1-5 from 2021
- 2nd phase for grades 6-8 from 2022.
- 3rd phase for 9,10 classes from 2023
