According to the recent news, the government decided to provide targeted subsidies to the Ehsaas beneficiaries at utility stores. Thus, for this purpose, the government will link the Ehsaas cards with the sale points. On this, a meeting was held on Thursday where members provide details on the Utility Store Corporation functions. However, members also expressed their reservations over the substandard items being sold at sale points.
Thus, now all those citizens who have Ehsaas cards will be able to buy the items from the utility sites at less rates. However, during the meeting, the ministry informed that the government will make these stores targeted subsidy tools.
On the performance of utility stores, the committee suggested that stores adopt ERP systems so that they will be able to check the logistics accordingly.
