We have good news to share. On 11 January 2021, the Higher Education Commission is going to implement a new policy in the education system. The new policy proposed to remove the Master’s degree and jump directly to Ph.D. In other words, an MS/M.Phil degree is not mandatory to get admission in Ph.D. Minimum 16 years of education required for Ph.D. According to the details, Ph.D. students should complete 30 credit hours of coursework for a minimum of 2 years.
It is also pertinent to mention that the duration period of a Ph.D. degree is not less than three years and more than 8 years of enrollment. Applicants have a right to get admission in other disciplines if the policy makes a cut. Also, HEC made it compulsory for researchers to send their Ph.D. dissertations to both Pakistani and experts foreign experts and makes it mandatory for students to spend at least two years in their home country during their Ph.D. program.
