According to the latest news, the Higher Education Department disallows several colleges offering Bachelor’s degrees. HED surveyed 29 colleges, and they banned around 27 colleges. The only reason behind this is the convocations of many colleges stopped due to Coronavirus. However, students are anxiously waiting for the degree. Therefore, colleges started to offer BS degrees. Not only this, in previous months, someone is offering the services of fake HEC degree attestation. They used to make money from students and rob them. The inspection team comprising the Directorate of Colleges (Lahore Division) inspected a select pool of private colleges that offered BS (Hons) courses. Only two institutions fulfilled requirements as per higher education standards.
However, the Directorate of Public Instruction (DPI) finally approved BS (Hons) degrees. After a comprehensive inspection, HED decided to ban 27 colleges from removing the underlying curriculum. Moreover, most private schools that are eligible for BS (Hons) degrees have full rights by the inspection team for fulfilling standards as per DPI criteria.
