The Higher Education Department (HED) has declared 23 sub-campuses of 7 private institutes as unauthorized.

Not only were these institutes illegal, but they also don’t meet the minimum academic, legal, and management requirements as declared by Punjab Government in the Policy issued in 2006 and instructions of Higher Education Commission (HEC) Islamabad and Higher Education Department (HED) Punjab.

HED had decided that the already enrolled students should continue their studies without any worries. Still, these institutes are not allowed to take further admissions if they failed to get the Governor’s approval. Further, it is learned that HED Punjab is going to take legal action against these universities.

The University of Central Punjab (UCP), which is a project of Punjab Group of Colleges, is on the top of this list with eight unauthorized sub campuses located in Gujranwala, Faisalabad, Rawalpindi, Gujrat, Sialkot, Multan, Bahawalpur, and Sargodha.
