HEC Ordinance 2021
After the HEC and HEC chairman’s issues, the federal government decided to make HEC Ordinance 2021. According to the ordinance, the government made some changes in the rules and regulations.
However, now, the government amended the ordinance again. According to the amended ordinance, the president has returned the Authority to HEc Regarding the appointment of Executive Director. Before this, the government took this authority from the HEC and gave it to the federal Education Ministry.
However, all these matters bring an ideological war. Some people think that the involvement of the Ministry in the HEC decision/ matters is a politician, not academics. Thus, this will erode the HEC mission to promote and improve higher education without any political interference.
