IBCC DECIDED NOT TO DEDUCT O AND A LEVEL STUDENTS MARKS

It is to be informed that IBCC chairman ordered not to deduct the marks of A and O levels students. IBCC conducts a meeting to help the Pakistani students enroll with international examination systems who canceled their May/June exams in 2020 due to coronavirus pandemic. They rejected the rule of canceling 15% marks during equivalency.

According to the Internal Assessment Policy, Cambridge decided to cancel the exams of June series. This latest notification is not only for Cambridge students but also for the American System of Education and International Baccalaureate (IB), and many more.

They also announced to give fewer marks to those students who have enrolled with the help of local boards for appearing in Islamic Studies, Urdu, and Pakistan Studies. To fulfill the essential requirement of IBCC equivalency, many foreign boards registered students appear in the exams of these subjects from local boards. Hence, all such students will also be passed.

The Inter-Board Committee of Chairmen (IBCC), a body responsible for granting equivalence to foreign qualifications with corresponding Pakistani Certificates, has temporarily suspended the deduction of 15% marks from the total obtained marks by O and A-level students. They wish to pursue their studies in educational institutions of Pakistan. As coronavirus is rapidly increasing, IBCC takes this decision to protect Pakistani students affiliated with the foreign examination. The decision would only apply for the exam results of June 2020. At this time, Cambridge and the British Council had failed to provide these students with a clear procedure without examinations.
