Islamabad to Close all Educational Institutes From Tuesday


According to the recent notification, it is to notify all that all educational institutes in Islamabad will remain closed from today. They shut down all government educational institutes in protest of the government’s move of giving the Federal Directorate of Education (FDE) under the administrative control of the Islamabad Metropolitan Corporation (MCI). The government decided to issue the new ordinance regarding the Islamabad Capital Territory Local Government Act 2015. However, the FDE director-general will also appoint d in consultation with the Islamabad mayor in the new law. Not only this, but the Federal Government Joint Action Committee also ordered teaching and non-teaching staff to start a protest in their respective institutions against the government move

Besides that, in a recent press release, Fazal Maula, Chairman of the committee, clearly announced that no academic activity would take place in any government educational institutes. However, a complete boycott of classes observed. The teaching and non-teaching staff said that the move would bring down the standard of education and increase political interference in the education sector. Malik Amir noted that this new move would destroy the education sector badly.
