National Grass-Root ICT Research Initiative NGIRI recently announced funding for Final Year project FYP of the final year students of ICT related disciplines. The funding program is specially offered to all the universities students of Pakistan. In addition to that, National Grass-Root ICT Research Initiative NGIRI also helps financially, e.g. for developing prototypes/working models of their Final Year Projects (FYP) to increase creativity, innovation, and hands-on engineering and development skills. The last date for application submission is 1st February 2021. You can also take part in the National FYP Championship Candidate can submit FYP application via NGIRI Portal
Eligibility Criteria For Participation of Institutions:-
Read the below-mentioned points of NGIRI FYP Funding Eligibility Criteria for Participation of Institutions.
- All HEC recognized institutes including (private and public sector universities) or Degree Awarding Institution (DAI) or belonging to any DAI and HEC institute eligible to apply.
- Due to different subject programs, every educational institute/university is considered as a separate institution.
- The participation of a focal person is mandatory in NGIRI funding for a final year project.
- The interested focal person of each institution should download the nomination form through the website and submit the duly filled nomination form to Ignite via email at ngiri@ignite.org.pk.
- The last date to apply is 15 January 2021

- Only those applicants who studied in the final year (4th academic year) of their undergraduate degree program of the Institutions are eligible to apply for this NGIRI last year project.
- To apply for this NGIRI FYP, the applicant should register in the below-mentioned undergraduate degree programs

If any department offering the same degree program belongs to one institution, then they will have to be approved by ignite.
- Around five (05), FYP can be approved for funding against each Department of an Institution.
- Including all applicable taxes, maximum allowance includes Rs. 80,000/- Moreover, this funding is further divided into the following budget heads
- Equipment charges: up to 70,000 per
- Miscellaneous: up to 10,000 per
Equipment changes include the development of a prototype/working model of FYP submitted under the Program”. However, Miscellaneous means the expenditures (other than Equipment) required to complete the prototype/working model of FYP. For example, stationery, printing, overheads etc. Some examples of Equipment include but not limited to the followings:
- Integrated Chips (ICs)
- Printed Circuit Board (PCB) and its Fabrication
- Electronic Components like Resistors, Diodes, and Capacitors etc.
- Electric Motors, Switch Boards, PLC
- Sensors, AV Cards
- Foundry Work
- Smart Devices & Screens
