According to the details, there almost one lac position vacant in the government schools situated all over Punjab. The hiring of teachers is a serious issue. The shortage of teachers in government institutions badly affects the education system. However, the ministry for School Education and Chief Minister Punjab announced many times that the hiring of teachers would start soon. But after the huge announcements, the recruitment process is not officially initiated.
One main reason for poor quality education is the shortage of teachers. In a meeting, all the government officials suggest hiring teachers through the National Testing Service NTS and the Punjab Public Service Commission.
But now, the Minister for School Education, Dr. Murad Raas, stated that the recruitment of 16000 processes would start soon. However, it is still under consideration. The recruitment of teachers in government schools of Punjab has taken a long time. Punjab Teachers Union demanded to start the teachers’ recruitment process immediately to avoid education loss. There is a lot of burden/ pressure on teachers in schools due to the shortage of teachers, which affects performance. Therefore, the Punjab Teacher Union request Chief Minister Punjab to start the recruitment process
