Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, many colleges decided to conduct online exams. But according to the details, the former HEC chairman disagreed with this decision. He says that taking online lectures considered to some extent but not taking online exams. On Thursday, Dr. Mukhtar Ahmed said exams cannot held online. On the other hand, students of different universities like Islamabad, Lahore, and Peshawar urged the authorities to conduct online exams as classes were also being held online. But, HEC didn’t approve this request. Not only this, but the majority of students also ordered authorities to reduce the tuition fees.

Dr. Mukhtar Ahmed clearly announced that this is the “prerogative of the concerned authority. Hence, they give hold to the teachers to decide how to conduct exams. Some of the members who attended the recent meeting raises the question that delivering lectures online to students also shows which teacher has the ability to teach online. Some teachers taught children very well. But some failed to properly deliver online lectures as per requirements. That’s why HEC has an objection to holding online exams.
He further added as far as I think teachers are still not ready for this and the authorities should have taken this seriously during the previous lockdown.”
