PBCC Revised Improvement of Marks/Grades Policy 2022

The Punjab Board Committee of Chairman (PBCC) issued a notification regarding the Marks Improvement policy. In this regard, PBCC held a meeting on 11 March 2022 and discussed the various new recommendations regarding the Marks Improvement. Thus, the committee made minor changes to the previous policy for the student’s benefit at the end of the meeting. Thus, below are the recommendations that have been approved during the PBCC meeting for the Improvement of Marks in exams.

Punjab Boards Revised Improvement Policy

  • After passing the SSC/HSSC Exams, students will get four chances to improve their marks according to the current syllabus within three years. However, they will be able to improve their marks in the same group/subjects in which they have passed the previous exam. During the improvement duration, they can’t pursue higher education. However, it’s up to students whether they want to improve one/or two subjects or a whole part under the conditions mentioned above.
  • Net Higher Qualification means completing HSSC/equivalent for the students appearing to improve SSC Marks. It is the completion of an Associate Degree in Arts/Science or BS/equivalent for the students appearing to improve HSSC Marks.
  • The students who want to improve their overall E & D Grades can avail their four chances of improvement within the three years till to secure an overall C Grade (50% marks).
  • Students who want to improve their exam marks after the two-year gap after passing the SSC/HSSC have to provide an affidavit. The affidavit proves that the students had not attained the higher qualification.
  • The marks sheet and certificate of students will contain the number of attempts a student availed.
  • Other improvements rules currently in vogue in all Punjab Board will remain the same.
  • The Students of SSC/HSSSC annual exams from 2020 and onwards can avail themselves of the chances to improve their marks if they haven’t improved their marks until now.
