PMC Increase 240 Medical Colleges Seats
Recently, the Pakistan Medical Commission (PMC) announced an increase of 240 seats in Punjab’s public medical colleges. PMC took this decision on the demand of students and parents to increase the seats in Punjab. Thus, PMC approved it, and now PMC enhanced 10% seats in 13 public colleges. Other than that, commissions also increase by 20% seats in the other two medical colleges.
Besides Punjab seats, a few days ago, KPK tribal areas also demanded to increase the seats for them. Thus, now PMC gave all provinces some time to submit their application for the increment in seats. However, the commission will accept the application till 29 January 2021.
The decision to increase Medical Quota
According to the news, the commission took this decision to increase the medical quota during a meeting. There were representatives of the federal government, the associated provincial government, AJk Government, and HEC present in the meeting.
Thus, during the meeting, members decided that the provincial government can apply for the existing quota’s readjustment. Remember that this new policy is only for public colleges. However, the 10% readjustment quota will be implemented after the complete inspection during the period of six months.
