Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (PMDC) has changed the merit formula for admission in Medical colleges. PMDC issued a new formula this year for the MBBS and BDS admissions. This year, PMDC will also include the marks of matric in the formula. In the last year, only intermediate and entry test marks were included.
PMDC Revised Aggregate Formula 2020
The new aggregate formula by PMDC for the admissions in MBBS and MBS is following
- Entry test marks weightage: 50%
- FSc marks weightage: 40%
- Matric marks weightage: 10%
PMDC Previous formula
Last year, the following formula was used for admissions in medical colleges.
- Entry test marks: 50%
- FSc marks: 50%
PMDC also changed the eligibility criteria for admission this year. According to the criteria, students having min. 65% of marks in intermediate are eligible for the MDCAT entry test. Those students who will secure 33% marks in the Entry test will consider a pass. They can apply for medical colleges for MBBS and BDS.
PMDC did one more changing this year in admission policy. Now, students can select more than 03 medical colleges. Last year, students were bound to choose only 03 medical colleges in their priority list.
