PPSC PMS Compulsory Subject Syllabus
For the Provincial Management service, PPSC has the following compulsory subjects for the written paper. So below is the detailed syllabus for all PPSC PMS Compulsory subjects syllabus.

English Essay (100 Marks)
Candidates have to write 1500 words of essay on one of the given topics. Topics for the Essay could be from the following topics.
- Education, economy, foreign policy, governance, human rights, constitution, law & order, and other socio-economic issues related to Pakistan and topics of general nature
The essay should reflect a clear understanding of the Essay, conceptual clarity, and logical reasoning. The examiner will examine the candidate’s articulation, use of grammar, and expression.
English (Precis, Comprehension, & Translation) (100 Marks)
- English Precis and Comprehension
- Precis Writing: A passage for compression shall be given for writing a precis & suggesting a suitable topic.
- Comprehension: A carefully selected passage shall be given followed by five questions requiring answers.
- Grammar & Vocabulary: Correct usage of tense, articles, prepositions, conjunctions, punctuations, verbs
- Sentence Correction: Sentences having a flaw in grammar, punctuations, or use of capitals. Candidates will correct them without making unnecessary alterations.
- Grouping of Words & Pair of Words: Words, randomly, maybe given that need to be grouped in pairs having similar or opposite meanings. Use of idioms and proverbs as may be clearly directed in the question, antonyms, synonyms, etc
- Translation
- A short passage in Urdu containing figurative/idiomatic expressions for an accurate translation into English.
Urdu (Essay, Precis, Comprehension, & Translation) (100 Marks)
