Start Autumn 2021 Semester on Time
On 05 May 2021, the Association of Private Sector Universities of Pakistan (APSUP) demanded the time commencement of the Autumn 2021 Semester. The association requested Autumn 2021 to the Federal Education Minister Shafqat Mahmood. In the notification, APSUP stated that it is a representative body of around 85 universities having 31 regional campuses.
The notification also contains the statements that private universities play a vital role in provisioning quality education. The private universities adopt effective measurements for quality education during the pandemic situation.
However, other than all of these, due to the prolonged closure of universities, the situation has become stressful. As there is no news regarding the reopening of institutes yet. With all of these things, the government decision to delay the Autumn 2021 semester is very exhausting. This government’s decision will cause a significant loss of students in academic failure and make them worried.
Financial System of Private Universities
In the notification, the APSUP also stated that delaying the semester will also affect the financial system of the private universities. The private universities already survive hardly without any substantial relief from the government in this pandemic. Thus, after this decision to delta the semester, the universities will face severe recruiting financial costs.
Thus, the APSUP requested the federal government start the Autumn 2021 semester according to the usual schedule (in September).
