The School Education Department Punjab (SED) recently issued a notification with the details of SSC and HSSC’s revised promotion policy 2021. Punjab Promotion Policy for HSSC
- HSSC Part-II candidates will appear in elective subjects only. However, marks obtained in elective subjects will be given in Compulsory subjects Part-II with 5% additional marks. However, the failed candidates will get 33% marks in the concerned subject. The board will award the same marks in the related subjects of HSSC Part-I. Thus, these instructions are for the students of the following category.

- Candidates don’t need to reappear in the HSSC Part-I, as they will get the average marks obtained in the remaining HSSC part-I subjects previously.
- For the improvement, candidates will appear in the elective subjects of HSSC part-I only. The average marks in the HSSC part-I elective subjects will be the reflection of the remaining compulsory subjects.
- There is no need to apply for the improvement of the compulsory subject.
- For the additional subject exams, candidates will appear in the relevant subject of HSSC part-II. However, HSSC Part-I marks will be according to the obtained marks in Part-II.
- IBCC, Nursing, or Languages group students will be examined in all relevant subjects of HSSC. However, the 33% policy is also for those students.
- Fresh HSSC part-I students will appear in the elective subject of HSSC part-I only.
Punjab Promotion Policy for SSC
- SSC Part-II candidates will appear in elective subjects and mathematics only. However, marks obtained in SSC part-II elective subjects will be given in Compulsory subjects Part-II with 5% additional marks. However, the failed candidates of SSC will get 33% marks in the concerned subject. The board will award the same marks in the related subjects of SSC Part-I.

- For the additional subject exams, candidates will appear in the relevant subject of SSC part-II. However, SSC Part-I marks will be according to the obtained marks in Part-II.
- O-levels, Shahadatul Sanvia Aama group students will be examined in all relevant subjects of SSC. However, the 33% policy is also for those students.
- Fresh HSSC part-I students will appear in the elective subject of HSSC part-I only.
Other than that, there will be no practical exams for the HSSC and SSC this year. So, 50% marks will be based on the theory marks, while the board will award the remaining 50% marks to every student.
