PU Announced the Phase-wise Reopening schedule of the University

PU  Phase-wise Reopening schedule 

On 26 January 2021, the Punjab University announced the reopening schedule of varsity into phases. Thus, according to the statement of the PU spokesman, the university will open into two phases. Besides that, he also provides details on which classes will come in the 1st phase and the schedule of both phases. Below are the complete details.

PU Reopening Phases

The Punjab University will open into the following two phases.

• 1st phase from February 2021 to 31 March 2021
• 2nd phase from 01 April 2021 onwards.

Details about 1st phase

According to the PU spokesman, in the first phase, the following classes will come to the campus.

• Students of M.Phil and Ph.D. who have already completed their course work but they have to complete the research work. They will get the hostel facility on the recommendation of HOD, deans, and supervisors.
• During the 1st phase, the following programs’ students have to complete their course work by 31 March 2021 as a condensed semester.
  • BS 1st and 8th semester
  • MA/MSc 1st and 4th semester
  • MA/MSc, LLM 2nd year under annual programs
  • Newly admitted MS/M.phil and Ph.D. students attending face-to-face classes and have a hostel facility.
• During the 1st phase, the students of BS 1st semester and promoted to 8th semester will attend a face to face classes with hostel facilities. 
•  The students of MA/MSc 1st semester and 4th semester will be able to attend a face to face classes with hostel facilities.

He stated that the university would provide the hostel facility only to those students who will attend the Face-to-Face classes. 

Details about 2nd phase

All the remaining classes BS and MA/MSc, will come to the campus in the 2nd phase. Till then, they will attend the online courses. However, the university may call them earlier if the COVID-19 situation gets better. 

Regarding the online exam, he stated that all the students of ongoing classes would complete the exam by 15 February 2021. However, students from the far areas having connectivity issues will get the facility of the hostel.
