After the official announcement of HEC to implement a new Ph.D. policy, a large number of private as well as public universities disagreed with this decision. The VCs of well-renowned universities rejected this new policy. Earlier, HEC allowed all students to continue their Ph.D. degree if he/they had 16 years of education. In short, an M.Phil not required for a Ph.D. For the past 1 week, they issued another policy to stipulate Ph.D. scholars to send their dissertations to Pakistani experts instead of foreign experts, as required under the previous policy. This newly issued policy didn’t sit well with stakeholders, including the administration. However, the Vice-Chancellors of several universities disagree with this decision. Now the VCs conduct a Vice-Chancellor Committee on Friday and talk about this newly issued policy in collaboration with the British Council.
Apart from this, the majority of candidates completely rejected the new undergraduate and Ph.D. Policies. They warn the HEC to regularize this policy until several or certain features removed or amended.
