According to the recent news, Punjab Higher Education Department aims to offer admissions to the 13 lac students in govt colleges in 2022-23. The government wants to achieve high enrollment this year. Last year, the government admitted the 12 lac students to the colleges. So, to increase the enrolment, Punjab colleges might offer 3rd shift to the students for students. However, the timing for the 3rd shift in the colleges will be 4:00 to 10:00 PM.
At the same time, there is news that those colleges who offer only morning shifts will start 2nd shift soon. However, the colleges have asked permission for the third shift from the Higher Education Secretary. Hopefully, the official permission will be granted soon. Right now, there are 818 government colleges in Punjab. So there will be 3rd shift for the intermediate degree soon, hopefully.
