Punjab Govt to Reduce 20% Syllabus for Classes 1 to 10

The government of Punjab issued a new notification regarding the education system in 2022. Punjab government conducted a fruitful meeting in which they decided to lessen the syllabus of school-going students. They are going to reduce the syllabus for classes 1 to 10. The reason behind this is the late commencement of the academic session in 2022. Therefore, the Punjab School Education Department has started reducing the syllabus from grades 1 to 10 of all school classes.

Punjab Govt Reduce Syllabus

The decision to reduce the syllabus has been taken due to starting the academic year with a delay of 4 months. After reducing the syllabus by 20%, the education boards will also be informed. In 2023, papers for the 9th and 10th will also be taken from 80% of the syllabus. In 2024, 9th and 10th class papers will be conducted from 100% syllabus. The government’s decision to reduce the syllabus is welcome, says Sarong Schools Association President. Also,  children have not been provided with complete syllabus books, President Razaur Rehman. It was difficult for the children to complete the syllabus in a short period. Therefore, they Punjab SED reduced syllabus

The SED Punjab will make the final decision after taking all Boards of Intermediate and Secondary Education (BISEs) into confidence. However, the official announcement will be made in due course. Over the past few decades, the Punjab govt assumed that when the exams came nearer, students would be unable to complete the course. Because of this, they got a poor mark in the board examination. Hence, the student’s parent requests the Punjab govt to reduce the syllabus for better results. Once the Punjab Assembly approved this request, they officially notified all schools situated in Punjab. Till then, keep patience and wait for the next decision.
