Punjab:
The final plan for the rationalization of teachers in Punjab’s Department of School Education is to be shared here. The teaching staff will be shuffled/shifted to the schools where teachers are deficient according to this plan. If there are two teachers teaching Biology in one school and the school only needs one teacher for this subject, the Punjab School Education Department will move/transfer the school teachers’ extra post to that school where there is a need for one teacher for Biology and there is no Biology teacher in that school.
Rationalization Process:
The process of rationalization of the teachers will be started from October 14, 2019, and completed till November 10, 2019.
The teachers can submit their arguments online after one week of accepting the orders.
Purpose of Rationalization Policy:
The policy is designed to provide every teacher with a reasonable workload and to ensure that each school has a feasible enrollment. Therefore, the schools’ excess staff will be transferred to the schools with inadequate staff. A single teacher will be named for classes up to 50 in nursery and class-I.

Note: The posts of EST (Technical/ Agriculture/ Home Economics) will not be rationalized.
In case of an increase in the number of sections, 1 EST (Science or Math) will be provided accordingly.

- No. of students in a section: 50
- No. of students in an additional section: 50
- No. of students in the last additional section: 25-50
Rationalization policy:
- First, transfer the surplus empty positions to the deficient schools in the increasing order of enrollment.
- In case of a position being transferred with the incumbent, the incumbent will be given preference in the corresponding post category.
- In the case of reluctance, the junior-most in the corresponding category of the position will be transferred on a seniority basis with the post.
- When two or more people want to be changed in the same category, the senior majority of them will be chosen.
