According to the latest notification, the Punjab Teaching Union (PTU) issued a notification to increase the salaries of teaching and non-teaching staff. PTU took this decision while talking to the media in Lahore. The PTU Leadership after getting suggestions from others finalize to prepare a final proposal in this regard. The copies of this proposal were sent to the Prime Minister, Federal Minister for Finance, and Chief Minister and Secretary of Finance Punjab.
The central President of PTU, Chaudhry Sarfraz, said that government employees are the backbone of the system, but are suffering from a severe financial crunch. General Secretary, Rana Liaqat, maintained that the government employees are starving, as their salaries are very low compared to the skyrocketing inflation.
