On 11 November 2020, the School Education Department SED conducted a meeting regarding MA Education degree as Academic as well as professional Qualification. The meeting was held under the chairmanship of the Special Secretary, School Education Department. According to the details, the Government of Punjab School Education Department SED issued a final decision. As per the media, the meeting begins with the recitation of the Holy Quran. After that, they highlight the important points regarding the MA Education Degree.
- The newly hired subject specialist is not considered for regularization due to MA (Education) as an academic degree and not a professional degree considered of B.Ed and M.Ed.
- He also asked about the importance of an MA Education degree as compared to B.Ed and M.Ed.
The chairperson, after getting suggestions from all members, finally concluded. The details are as under;
- The subject of education represents the art of teaching.
- The degree of MA Education is equivalent to M.Ed.
- The MA Education covers the syllabus of M.Ed. Therefore after completing MA Education, it is not mandatory to enroll in a B.Ed and M.Ed degree.
- MA Education degree now considered as Academic as well as professional Qualification.
