Shafqat Mahmood Statements
In a press conference held a few days ago, Shafqat Mahmood clarifies all confusions regarding reopening schools. He said that the government decided to reopen the schools on 15 September after reviewing all situations of COVID-19.
He further said that a meeting of inter-provincial ministers is going to conduct on 07 September 2020. In the meeting, the ministers will take the final decision of opening the schools. The ministers will also discuss the SOPs announced by the Ministry of Health.
Initiatives
In the press conference, Shafqat Mahmood said that during his two-years ministry period, various initiatives had launched.
Tele-School Project is one of them. Tele-school project launched in the COVID-19 period for the students. According to the Gallup record, 7-8 million children are getting education through this project from their homes.
Uniform Curriculum
During his talk, he also mentioned the uniform curriculum in all the public and private institutes. He said that from the next year, all the schools in Pakistan would teach the Single National Curriculum (SNC) at primary level. The process of publishing books is under progress. He also said that SNC would also teach at a middle and high level up to 2023.

Skill Development Program
In the conference, the Federal minister also talked to start the various new skill development programs. He said that under the direction of Imran Khan different skill programs had developed. About 170,000 students are getting new skills from these programs.
Scholarships
Shafqat Mahmood also mentioned various scholarships such as Ehsaas scholarships under which around 50,000 students received scholarships. Other than a scholarship program for 1,000 nurses had also launched.
