Govt statements on School Closure Issue
On 02 November 2020, Federal Minister Shafqat Mahmood clarified the rumors of school closure again. In his tweet, he stated that rumors again started to rise that school will close due to COVID-19. Now, after his statement, it’s confirmed that schools and all other educational institutes will not close again.
Shafqat Mahmood also said that the government is monitoring the health of students and all school staff. Their health is very precious and important. He also stated that at the moment, the government made not any decision regarding the closing of schools.
A day before this, on 01 November 2020, Punjab Education Minister Murad Raas also tweeted on this issue. He said that during the COVID-19 situation, we are watching the Punjab school very closely correctly. He also said that from the COVID test’s result, the number of patients is increasing but not that alarming.
Murad Raas also said that the government is checking the situation daily. So, there is no plan for closing the educational institutes.
He advised all students and education administrations to follow the SOPs properly.
