Sindh Health Minister Statements
On Thursday, Sindh Health Minister Dr. Azra Fazal Pechuho talked with a news channel about the COVID-19 current situation. She said that after reopening the schools, the Corona Cases doubled in Sindh. She stated that the COVID-19 positivity rate increased from 1.5% to 3% and it is not a wise decision to reopen the schools.
Sindh Health Minister’s statement is for the government decision opening the Middle schools from 28 September. While before this, the government decided to open the schools on 21 September. But now the Health minister is against this decision. She also said that the government should not think to open the schools from primary classes now. It must take a month or more for primary classes.
In her conversation, she also added that there is a possibility of the 2nd wave of COVID-19 in the ongoing situation. So, children must be sent to the schools after the COVID-19 clear.
Saeed Ghani Response
Sindh Education Minister Saeed Ghani’s statement is opposite to the Health Minister. He said that Corona Patients are decreasing, only the number of tests is increasing, not infection.
Regarding schools, he added that there is no problem in reopening the schools. So, the school will reopen according to the schedule, 28 September 2020.
