Due to the worse COVID-19 situation, the students didn’t prepare well for the annual examination. After the declaration of results, the majority of students got 33% marks. Because of marks, they are unable to get admission to any institute to pursue higher education. In most universities, the eligibility criteria of students are a minimum of 45% in inter exams to seek admission. Due to the pandemic, the Inter-Provincial Education Ministers Conference (IPEMC) enforced the Promotion Examination Policy 2021. Under this policy, the government only allowed to conduct SSC and HSSC elective subjects papers. The marks taken in elective subjects were proportionately given in compulsory subjects in addition to 5% extra marks.
In history, students break records in 2021 by securing full marks in the matric and intermediate but some secure 33% marks and haven’t got admission to any prestigious institute Earlier, the SBCC and Board of Intermediate Education Karachi (BIEK), Prof. Dr. Saeedudin, said that 33% of passing marks are of no use for thousands of students as they cannot apply to any university.
