Dr. Saima YAshin is the first professor of Engineering who joined the Chemical Engineering Department at the oldest and largest institution of higher education in Engineering and technology in Lahore.
This institution called the Mughalpura Technical College when it established in 1921. In 1962, it named the UET.
Achievements of DR. Saim Yasin:
Dr. Saim Yasin, the first female professor in the department of 23 teachers appointed as the first female chairperson of any engineering department at the UET.

Dr. Saima Yasin does almost 13 publications, and she also published the project in the chemical department.
The university come a long way from only one female engineering student in 1975 and no female engineering teacher to over 24 % female engineering students, about 95 % female engineering faculty.
