According to the recent notification, the Academic Council conducted a meeting with the five-member committee regarding the two-year BS and MS Programs. As per details, the Academic Council of the Karachi University (KU) seeks the legal opinion of the Sindh government regarding the two-year bachelor’s and master’s degree programmes. They seek advice from the varsity. However, Professor Jamil Hassan Kazmi appointed as the convener of the committee. Apart from this, the five members named Dr Zaheer, Dr Nasiruddin Khan, Dr Anila Amber Malik, and Dr Naeem Khalid are also part of the meeting. The Academic Council got suggestions from these 5 committee members and as a result, they decided to seek help from the Sindh government. Moreover, they also finalize the admissions in MPhil and PhD programmes of 2021 given as per the varsity’s existing admission policy.
In a meeting, they also discussed the new PhD policy, introduced by the Higher Education Commission-Islamabad. KU Academic Council also announced that after obtaining a degree in a master’s programme from the University of Karachi on a regular basis in the morning programme, a student would be eligible to do another master in any department in the evening programme. The Academic Council meeting conducted under the chairmanship of KU’s Vice-Chancellor Professor Khalid Mahmood Iraqi, while the meeting took place at the Arts Auditorium.
