We have good news for the candidates who hold a degree in Arabic and didn’t find any job as the government of teaching the Holy Quran subject become mandatory in all over province Punjab. Therefore, during the provincial cabinet meeting, Chief Minister Punjab, Sardar Usman Buzdar, approved hiring 70,000 Arabic teachers. The School Education Department submitted the proposal in this regard. Before hiring teachers, the education department Secretary made it compulsory to train Arabic teachers first to teach the Holy Quran in public schools. The new vacancies have been created for grades 1 to 5.
Apart from this, the Lahore High Court mandated the compulsory teaching of the Holy Quran in December 2020. Not only this, but a division bench of the LHC also hears an appeal in this regard. The education department official told the high court that they were trained around 70,000 teachers in the first phase. Further 60,000 Arabic teachers are required in the province,” the official apprised the court last week. The hearing was adjourned till 3 January. SED, in this regard, issues directives in all public schools to teach Holy Quran as a separate subject.
The authorities had recommended disciplinary action against three school principals in Nankana Sahib for improperly teaching the Holy Quran.
