On 19th May 2021, National Command and Operations Center (NCOC) conducted a fruitful meeting with the Federal Minister Asad Umar. In a meeting, NCOC decided to reopen schools from May 24. However, they also stated that educational institutes will only open in those areas or districts where COVID-19 infection rate is 5%. Other than that, the educational institutes in all districts will reopen from June 07. After consulting the current COVID-19 situation from the Health department, they finalized this decision.
Moreover, the Federal Minister Asad Minister also ordered all provinces to conduct annual board examinations of SSC and HSSC. In 2020, the board exam was cancelled due to thousands of positive cases of COVID-19, but now there is no chance of cancellation of the paper. Students will now get ready and prepare well for their final board examination. Apart from education, NCOC also finalized the various decisions regarding opening of shopping malls, tours etc. As COVID-19 condition is under control, therefore, NCOC allow reopening schools in only those districts where there is 5% positivity rate
