According to the latest news, there might be a possibility that the government of Punjab will convert the Single National Curriculum into two categories. However, the provincial ministry of education framed the TORs of a new framework of the SNC, under which the provincial government has restricted some schools to teaching only the syllabus designed under the SNC. Not only this, but they also relax other schools by allowing them to teach their books besides the SNC and categorized as ‘Core Plus.
According to the Term of Reference (TORs), all schools require a single No Objection certificate. However, those publishers who already received a NOC from the textbook board, will not require one to publish curricula books from the provincial government.
According to the new policy/guidelines, the Punjab government will develop textbooks aligned with the Student Learning Objectives (SLOs) prescribed by the SNC. Not only this, but they also clearly notify that the NOC will only issue once the board ensures that there is no anti-Pakistan, anti-religious, or controversial content in the books.
